The Projects section will be a listing of ongoing projects that OIR-GIS Services staff is involved with.  The primary project highlighted in the Projects section is the Tennessee Base Mapping Program, a 5-year effort to create a comprehensive base map for use by all state and local agencies based on orthoimagery and real parcel database.

Development of location based services (LBS) infrastructure and agency applications is a focus for 2005. As LBS applications are developed in the production environment, the Projects section will be used to demonstrate business applications using location based services. LBS is the first component of the Spatial Data Architecture, with additional components to be designed, developed, and implemented in the coming year.
